GOLF
Phone from the U.S. (01152-617-75523).
Offers a 18 hole golf course,
par 72, 6820 yards, 119 slope. Fee
includes a mandatory golf cart: $34.00 (PRICES ARE SUBJECT
TO CHANGE), locker room, power carts, golf shop, rental clubs, driving
range, coffee shop, cocktails.
It is located 25 minutes from the
house. Turn left at the billboard and
drive toward Ensenada, look for it on the right hand side of the road.
I personally have not played this
course but my colleagues tell me that the quality of the course is
excellent. I have seen the course and its
setting is breath-taking, & I understand that it is rarely crowded.(CLICK

SCUBA
DIVING The
Bufadora is an exceptional diving area. From the house turn right at the
entrance ( the large billboard with the arrow ) and proceed up the
scenic winding road to the Bufadora, approximately a twenty minute
drive. FOR DETAILED
INFORMATION CLICK HERE. |

BICYCLING
Bring your bike, your Cannondale is
not necessary, any old bike will do! Ride along the ocean (when the tide
is out) and luxuriate in the gentle breezes of Baja, My favorite ride is
during the sunset hours. Turn right from the house, the shoreline is
rock hard (at low tide) and continue north to the end, it's
approximately a 15-20 minute ride. What a joy to take a spin on one of
the most unspoiled beaches in the world where there are hundreds of
pelicans and swallows resting on the shoreline. This
ride is a must! |

TENNIS
There are 4 tennis courts at the
club, there is rarely a wait and the last time I checked there was no
fee for its use. (The club is temporarily closed and will be opened
under new management). The courts were opened the last time I checked.
Please check with me before arriving. |

FISHING
The fishing
in northern Baja is excellent. Yellow
Tail, Blue fin and Big eye tuna, Calico, Bass, Dorado, Wahoo,
Barracuda, Bonita, Halibut, Marlin, Perch, and Rock Cod
are just a few of the many fish off these
waters. Anglers will find a variety of sport-fishing boats.

The hotel Coral and Marina resort
(800-862-9020) offers a 36-foot Chris Craft and two party boats.
The Ensenada clipper fleet
includes day party boats as well as long range vessels at 619-428-6946,
or 011-52-617-8-20-62.
To fish along smaller pangas, from
22'-25',call Captain Arturo
"Coco" Peralta at
011-617-8-74-29. Gordos fishing fleet and
the Villa Fontana Hotel (800-225-2786 or
619-298-4105) offer economical fishing packages. Gonzalez
Lizardi, the Coral Port master, can assist
with boat launching and dockage. 619-425-2721.
Live bait is available most of the time
for private boats. If you bring your own boat to Mexico, a Mexican boat
permit is required. A fishing
permit is required of everyone on board. These
can be obtained from many San Diego tackle shops and tourist offices.
Request a copy of Mexican regulations as well. NOTE: Permits for boats
30' and over must be obtained from the Mexican Dept. of Fisheries, 2450
5th Ave. Suite 101, San Diego Ca. 92103; 916-233-4324.
On the way to the Bufadora look for the
half day fishing excursions. They take you on a boat and you fish off
the Punta Banda Peninsula. I understand that it's
a fun day of fishing and fun for the whole family!
FISH ON THE BAY SIDE JUST 100 FEET FROM THE FRONT DOOR OF
OUR HOME. A FOUR POUND HALIBUT WAS THE CATCH OF THE DAY!

Water
sports. Just minutes
from the house is a boat launching area, (from the house turn left at
the guard gate). Launch your own boat. My favorite boat ride
is to Estero Beach resort (approximately 25 minutes), you can anchor
your boat and have lunch at the outdoor seaside restaurant. It's an
absolutely awesome experience! Remember to
get back while the tide is up, its dangerous trying to return at low
tide. |
 |
SURFING:
SAN MIGUEL,
7 miles north of town, just before the
toll gate. Good rights on a rocky beach, some shoulder hopping
lefts with a south swell.
TODOS SANTOS,
5 miles off shore, due west of town. These waves come in uninterrupted
from the ocean, and really pump. Boat access.
WATERSPORTS,
Estero Beach is the perfect calm bay for all types of water sports,
including water skiing, boardsailing, and personal watercraft. |
 |
HORSEBACK
RIDING, Treat yourself to
a tour of the many sights in the area and ride along the beach with one
of the local guides. There are many rentals along the way to the
Bufadora, the last check was $7.00 per hour! (PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO
CHANGE). |
